Introduction
Hi There. My name is Tebogo.
Just like you, I made a LOTTTT of mistakes
when I first started using Colloidal Silver. In fact, in the beginning I did
Not even look carefully as to whether the product I am buying is True Colloidal
Silver or just another silver preparation. I did Not know or care about the
difference between Ionic Silver and True Colloidal Silver. As a result, many
sellers of colloidal silver caught me with my pants down and swindled me out of
my money in broad daylight. I read product review after product review and
wanted to find something that most people seemed to be *raving* about, because
I was Not really sure about the science behind Colloidal Silver or even the
difference between the various forms of silver out there in the market. I
simply assumed that each product must be good for some reason in its own right
and that choosing one is just a matter of finding the BEST out of the good. But
boy I was wrong ! Wrong - wrong - wrong !!
Different forms of Silver
(NOT all is *Colloidal* . . even if it is called Colloidal Silver!)
Ok, there is a thing called Colloidal Silver
(True Colloidal Silver) and then there is also another thing called Ionic
Silver. There is a fundamental difference between these two, and unless you
stop and take a moment to understand and appreciate this difference, you're
probably going to end up buying the wrong thing and having a poor experience
with it, just like I did at the beginning of my journey, which will lead you to
a negative mindset about Colloidal Silver in general. In addition to True
Colloidal Silver vs Ionic Silver, there are also other forms of Silver such as
Silver Protein as well as Silver Oxide or Silver Hydrosol (as those who sell it
sometimes prefer to name it). These are all different preparations of silver
and the method of preparation makes them fundamentally different from each
other.
I do Not want to confuse you any further by
mentioning yet another long list of technical, medical, chemistry or scientific
terms in an attempt to *educate* you about Colloidal Silver or to try and make myself
look smart in your eyes, because that is Not what really brings you here. You
are simply looking for an honest opinion about which of the MANY colloidal
silver products out there is really the best. I know that is what really brings
you here. But nonetheless the opinion
you are looking for needs to be based on rational evaluation and reasoning and
Not just on gut feelings or on anecdotal evidence. Colloidal Silver
manufacturers tend to all use too much anecdotal evidence to show that
colloidal silver truly works , but they do so in support of **ONLY** their
product, and this ends up casting a LOT of doubt and confusion in your mind
because how could EVERYONE’s product be THE BEST ???? Good, now let's proceed to talk about Ionic
Silver vs Colloidal Silver.
The Basics - Ionic Silver
vs Colloidal Silver
Here is the low down on Ionic Silver. The
first thing I want you to know about Ionic Silver is that it is easier and
cheaper to make. However, Ionic Silver further has a downside that it reacts
with Hydrochloric Acid in your stomach after you ingest it. This reaction turns
Ionic SIlver into Silver Chloride, which is a basic salt that is Not very
useful in treating infections, bacteria, viruses, fungus, etc in your body.
Once it has turned into Silver Chloride, this basically inhibits its potential
as an anti-microbe and anti-viral solution. Ionic Silver is usually CLEAR in
colour, clear and transparent just like water. The second important thing I
want you to know about Ionic Silver is that Ionic Silver furthermore suffers
from exposure to light. Light (especially Direct Sunlight) will easily
neutralize Ionic Silver and render it significantly less potent while it is
STILL sealed in its container before you even use it ! Hence you find some
people reporting that the product they bought NEVER worked for them at all ,
while others have raving positive reviews about the SAME product !! You would
discover that one person's product (same product) was accidentally exposed to
light either during shipping or unpackaging or something to that effect which
neutralized the Ionic Silver rendering it useless before it was even put to
use. This is why you will find the use of DARK bottles by most manufacturers of
Ionic Silver. DARK bottles are a key give away about Ionic Silver ! And these
dark bottles are the third most suspicious thing about Ionic Silver. True Colloidal Silver on the other hand does NOT require to be stored in a DARK bottle, because it is NOT sensitive to light. The silver particles that make up [true] colloidal silver are NOT silver ions, they are actual silver particles. Needless to say, silver particles are much larger in size than silver ions. Because the particles are larger, they will NOT react to the hydrochloric acid in your stomach when you ingest [true] colloidal silver. The silver particles that [true] colloidal silver is made of will Reflect Light and as a result the [true-colloidal-silver] solution will NOT be clear like water. The solution will be amber / yellow / peach / orange-ish or dark grey in color (the larger the particle size, the darker the color). Now that is what True Colloidal Silver looks like.
The Basics - What about
Silver Proteins ?
Well, this one is criticized by almost EVERY
manufacturer of silver out there. It must be the most hated type of silver because
every manufacturer out there claims that Silver Protein is No good. There is
also a general consensus from all manufacturers that this is the form of silver
that can cause argyria. I fully agree with the notion that silver protein (or
mild silver protein... bla-bla-bla) is the most undesirable form of silver. It
is also the most unpopular type of colloidal silver. You will often see its PPM
values in the three hundred or higher numbers, such as 300 PPM Mild Silver
Protein or 600 PPM Mild Silver Protein or some sellers will even tell you about
Super Strength 4000 PPM and similar. That is a clear giveaway that you are
dealing with someone who is selling Silver Protein. Do NOT buy it !
Silver Biotics and ASAP 10
These two products (Silver Biotics and ASAP
10) are the exact same thing, just different labelling on their bottles. I have
confirmation **in writing** from American Biotech Labs themselves where they
say to me that these two products are identical in content and everything,
except of course the labelling on the outside of the two bottles.
The product claims to be Ag404 Multivalent
bla-bla-bla with Oxide Coating and 4 modes of action , bla-bla-bla . . LOL.
From a critical examination however, this product is Ionic Silver and NOT true
colloidal silver. The biggest giveaway about it is the dark blue container in
which they package the product. They package their product in a DARK blue
plastic container . . guess why ?? Because it is sensitive to light ! This
means it is Ionic Silver. Light will spoil it, hence a dark blue container. The
second give away about Silver Biotics and ASAP 10 is the fact that it is CLEAR
in colour ! It is clear like water. This confirms further that there are No
silver particles in it, but rather too much of its content is in the form of
silver ions. If there are silver particles (concentration of about 20 ppm or
so) in the solution, the particles will reflect light and produce an amber /
yellow / peach / orange-ish color. Ideally you wouldn't want to use a dark
bottle to package your colloidal silver :) :)
But think a little more about it again . . if your solution is CLEAR in
colour in the first place, you would take pride in showcasing its clarity by
NOT placing it in a [dark] bottle that hides its clarity , right ?? You would
go for an untainted Super-Transparent Glass Bottle that reveals just how CLEAR
your solution is, given the fact that one of the selling points made by Silver
Biotics and ASAP 10 is that it is a crystal clear solution with No color
whatsoever.
In fact, this product is Ionic Silver with 3%
Hydrogen Peroxide added to it in order to create the Ag4O4 Molecule that they
tout as their new innovation or new silver solution. I discovered this when I
studied their patent document (United States Patent: 7135195). Instead of saying their
solution is Tetrasilver Tetroxide, they chose to coin a fancy term saying their
silver is "3D Tetrahedral Structure", etc , LOL. They go on to say
that their product is a "Patented metallic nano-silver particle with a
thin multi-valent Ag404 silver oxide coating" , LOL . . how smart with
words :) Despite all their claims and
various compelling evidence through their videos on Youtube **as well as**
their clinical trials that they conducted in Africa (Ghana), this product does
NOT strike me as a true Colloidal Silver !
I made a mistake and bought Four 32 fl. oz bottles (4 Litres!) of this
product spending over $200 in total because I was largely influenced by the
bold claims they make on their YouTube videos about how effective their product
is as well as the successful clinical trials they conducted in Africa. However,
if the product is primarily Ionic Silver and NOT colloidal silver, there
remains a big disadvantage that it will end up reacting to hydrochloric acid in
the stomach and simply become silver chloride (a basic salt) before it gets a
chance to do its job in your body. I am NOT saying the product is completely
useless. It will certainly do something because there will still be some silver
particles in it (perhaps 5% or so) mixed in with the large majority of silver
ions, but it will NOT do its job to the fullest due to Not having enough silver
particle content and being primarily filled with silver ions as its primary
content.
Sovereign Silver
So you’ve heard some good reviews about
Sovereign Silver . . from Natural-Immunogenics ?? Well, I am sorry to blow your
bubble but this product is also NOT a true colloidal silver. It is some kind of
Ionic Silver. Again from the maker of this product we hear terms such as Silver
Hydrosol. They display their cutting-edge laboratory equipped with a
Transmission Electron Microscope ! Now that's impressive. They go on to further
analyse and compare their unique Silver Hydrosol against dozens of OTHER silver
products, including MesoSilver and ASAP 10 (Silver Biotics) on the list and
over a dozen others. However I am still NOT convinced that this product is a
true colloidal silver. The first give away about this product is the color of
the bottle they package it in. The bottle is made of glass but they choose to
use a DARK colored glass . . do you smell a rat already here ??? But then on
their website they say their product is "Crystal clear and virtually
tasteless". Remember the story about a CLEAR or COLORLESS silver ?? This sounds like yet another Ionic Silver
product with more fancy words used to conceal its true nature. My biggest
question is always this : Why do you choose to package a product whose selling
point is "CLEAR" and "tasteless" inside a container/bottle
that is NOT clear itself ??? If you are
selling a clear liquid, you ideally want its clarity to be transparently
visible. Let me take a quick detour and make an analogy with still water. How
many times do you find still water sold in concealed bottles that are dark in
color ???? Very rare and very unlikely, right ?? The water must ideally be in a
clear bottle that is as transparent as possible in order to reveal the clarity
of the water to the buyer. The only reason I can think of these DARK bottles of
colloidal silver is that the product in the bottle is essentially Ionic Silver
(despite all the fancy/unique words coined to describe it as unique from
OTHERS) . . if the product were to get exposed to sunlight it will get
neutralized/destroyed by the light as it is Ionic Silver and NOT true colloidal
silver :) :) That is why they use a dark
bottle.
Angstrom Silver - what about Angstrom Silver ?
Need I say more to you ?? Just look at their
dark blue plastic bottle ! What are they concealing with such a dark blue
bottle ??? This is a definite giveaway again that someone is trying to sell you
the same old Ionic Silver but now he calls it Angstrom Silver and goes
on-and-on to explain in detail how Angstrom Size particles are so so so so
small that they are invincibly superior to anything out there in the world of
colloidal silver. . . LOL , I am Not convinced at all hey :) :) This product sounds like it is primarily just
another Ionic Silver solution. Of course it is only natural that every manufacturer
will try his best to set his product APART from others and over-emphasize
features of his product that apparently make it **exceptionally unique** and
therefore **superior** to ALL other products :) :) Manufacturers of Ionic
Silver will go to great extents and even coin new innovative words that
uniquely describe their silver. But what we must know is that Ionic Silver is
still Ionic Silver. If you are hiding your silver in a dark bottle and its
color is clear as water then chances are that it is nothing that much special .
. it is still just Ionic Silver and it will react with Hydrochloric Acid in the
stomach to become Silver Chloride which is a basic salt that will Never deal
with pathogens effectively or even act as an effective anti-microbial at all.
Utopia Advanced Colloidal
Silver
No comment. Utopia Advanced Colloidal Silver
is a true colloidal silver, period.
MesoSilver
Again no comment. MesoSilver is a bona-fide
true colloidal silver.
MediSILVER
MediSILVER is a new entrant in the market who
seems to be capitalizing on MesoSilver's high prices. But let me Not forget to
state categorically again that MediSILVER is a true colloidal silver, both
their Amber and Black colloidal silvers are of excellent quality. This product
seems to be as good as MesoSilver yet it costs significantly LESS than both
MesoSilver and/or Utopia Advanced Colloidal Silver. It is a new entrant in the
market that is going to rock the boat against MesoSilver and Utopia Silver with
their very competitive prices.
My Final Recommendation
If you prefer a more established brand, I
would suggest you go for MesoSilver but if you are concerned about price/cost ,
then MediSILVER is your best bet. If you would like to save even more or you
are really on a tight budget, I would say Utopia Advanced Colloidal Silver is
your last bet, however I Don't believe Utopia's quality is as excellent as
MesoSilver or MediSILVER. In any case at least now you are assured that ALL
these three remaining products are true colloidal silver ! You Don't have to
sift through 5 or 10 products and end up totally confused about which silver is
better than which because there's a LOT of confusion out there about Colloidal
Silver. If we were to talk only in terms of quality alone, MesoSilver is
probably the very BEST quality , followed by MediSILVER , then Utopia Advanced
Colloidal Silver , that's it. As for me, I don't make a dime or any money from
you buying either MesoSilver, MediSILVER or Utopia Advanced Colloidal Silver.
And I really Don't care which of the 3 products you end up buying or even where
you decide to buy it. It is all up to you. But I hope that my clarification has
helped you a LOT in making a more informed decision and to deal with the huge
confusion and hype out there about the "best" Colloidal Silver
product. I believe that you now have a clearer answer to this illusive question
: Which colloidal silver product is really the best ??
